Obituary for Wendy Judson (Moore)

The family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Wendy Judson of Emo, Ontario. She lived a happy and fulfilling life, and moved from one exciting adventure to another with a positive attitude, a huge smile, and heartfelt kindness to all she met.

Wendy was born on the 23rd April 1940 in Macclesfield, UK.
She was the adored daughter of Houston Edwin Dudley and Frances Moore. She trained as a registered nurse, CM1, and was recruited by the Canadian Red Cross in 1963 to emigrate and serve at the Rainy River Red Cross Outpost Hospital. From there she was moved to the Emo Red Cross Hospital. Wendy was instrumental in the commencement of the Home Care program to people living in First Nations communities in the district.

Wendy loved giving back to her community and she volunteered her time with several Riverside Health projects, committees, and on the Hospital Board.
She spent her winters in Florida and volunteered at the Sea Turtle hospital where she gave informational tours once a week and raised funds for turtle rehabilitation.
Wendy was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Thomas Wayne Judson, parents H.E.D. Moore and Frances Moore, and great-granddaughter Isabelle Roulston.

She is survived by her brothers Dudley and Christopher, her children Joanne Bursey (Bruce), Jonathon Judson (Bonnie), Lisa Judson-Mitchell, and godson Dean Martin, grandchildren Jonathon, Teare, Hope, Caleb, Keighnyn, Shannon, Zachary, and Seth, and great-grandchildren Dom, Ava, Jaida, Lizzie, Alaina, and Faye.
Wendy is also survived by soul sisters Arlene, Margie, and Doris as well as numerous friends that she considered like family.

It was Wendy’s wish that a funeral not take place, and that friends, if they wish, donate to the local Canadian Red Cross or Riverside Foundation for Health Care, c/o Northridge Funeral Home Ltd, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0.
