Obituary for Victor Copenace

Late Victor Copenace Sr. Waabshkigoneb
Sadly the family announces the passing of Victor Copenace Sr. 52 of Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 28, 2022 at the Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg MB.
Victor was born in Rainy River to parents Lillian and Daniel Copenace on August 10, 1970. He was a gentle soul and was very proud of becoming a great grandfather. He enjoyed working as a landscaper, masonry, and drywalling. Victor had a great sense of humour and he will be loved and missed by all.
He is survived by his children Victor Jr., Dakota, Brandon, Christian, Jessica, Zachary, Alyssa (Leslie), six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Victor is also survived by his siblings Delbert (Marilyn) Copenace, Edna Copenace, Janet (Jeff) Johnson, Marcella Spoon, Joanie Spoon, his aunt Lila Boshkaykin, his uncles Albert Cochrane Jr, Alvin Copenace, Ernie Copenace, Victor’s second family Leonard and Evelyn Renchard and their family, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Victor was predeceased by his parents Lilian and Daniel Copenace, grandparents Albert Cochrane, Mary Black, Ben Copenace and Jane Copenace, his brother Steven Copenace and his sister Judy Copenace.
A traditional wake will be held on Tuesday November 1, 2022 at 6 p.m. at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall, followed by a traditional service Wednesday November 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. Elder Tommy Councillor officiating. Interment will take place at Big Grassy First Nation Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be Bob Copenace, Fred Copenace, Jamie Archie, Albert Wilson Jr., Dennis Copenace, Mitchel Abraham, Honourary Pall Bearers will be all of Victors family and friends.
If desired memorial donations may be made in Victor’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, by cheque c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, Ontario P0W 1E0.
