Obituary for Vera Lucille Hutka (Bales)

Vera Lucille Hutka (nee Bales)
Sadly the family announces the passing of Vera Hutka, 90 at Rainy Crest Long Term Care Fort Frances Ontario on Saturday October 16, 2021.
Vera was born March 9, 1931 in Heaslip Manitoba to parents Herman and Lucille Bales. Vera was one of 7 children. She graduated Norwood Collegiate High School as a stenographer and was employed at many offices over the years including Great West Life where she met her future husband Rudy. Vera worked on one side of Portage and Main and Rudy worked on the other side. They were married on October 6, 1951 at the Augustine United Church.
Vera loved people and she loved working at jobs where she could meet new people and interact, including relief jobs at Boise Cascade, several federal and provincial offices, Boy Scout secretary, Avon rep, and a member of the Rainy Crest and Hospital Auxiliary’s.
She loved to do crafts and she would make lawn dolls and lawn sheep, which many of them made it across Canada to family and friends yards.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Rudy of 69 years, her sons Tyler Hutka (Julie) of Thunder Bay, Troy Hutka (Debbie) of Calgary, and Shane Hutka of Fort Frances. She will be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Vera is also survived by sister Dorothy (Morris) Lazurak and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and all her other siblings and spouses.
As per Vera’s wishes cremation will take place with a private family interment in Riverview Cemetery, Fort Frances, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd.
