It’s with great sadness we announce our loving mother Velaire York (nee Grinsell) passed away on Thursday Jan 5th at the age of 92. Velaire was born Sept. 6th 1930 in Fort Frances. At the time of her passing she was a resident at Rainycrest.
She worked in various retail businesses around town and her and her husband Jim owned and ran various businesses in Fort Frances. Mom enjoyed Sunday suppers with her family and enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren on a regular basis. She enjoyed taking care of her cats and enjoyed watching the wildlife at holiday village.
Mom will be reunited in heaven with her husband Jim who passed on Feb 08 2009 and her daughter Katherine who passed on February 9th 2018. She is survived by her son Peter and wife Linda, son Bill and wife Rose, son Robert and wife Corrine and her daughter Julie Halverson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at her gravesite in the summer when she is laid to rest with her husband and daughter.
