Obituary for Shyla Big George
It is with great sadness that the family of Shyla Renee Big George announce her passing in the town of Fort Frances, ON December 12, 2022. She was born December 30, 1993 to Darlene Morrison and Barry Big George in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is survived by her daughter Amelia Kelly, her father Barry Big George, her sisters Kristen Boshey, Trisha Morrison-Boshey, Christine Ottertail and Chelsea Archie. Her brothers Trevor Boshey Sr, Christopher Big George, Jayden Big George. Her aunties Sharon Morrison (Mom), Kim Morrison, Joyanne Morrison, Roseanne Morrison, Marietta Jourdain, Elaine Jourdain, Rhonda Big George. Her uncles Dennis Morrison Sr, Roger Morrison, Dave Morrison, Darryl Big George, Aaron Morrison.
She was predeceased by her mother Darlene Morrison. Her sister Tami Morrison. Her brother Daniel Morrison. Her grandparents June (Joan) and Albert Morrison Sr, Mae Jamieson and Edward Copenace, Her great-grandparents George and Clara Ottertail, Willie and Rosanna Big George, Joe and Minerva Copenace. Her auntie Shannon Morrison, Valerie Kelly. Her uncles Albert Morrison Jr, Jeff Morrison, Christopher Big George.
She also leaves behind numerous cousins.
Shyla loved spending her time with her close family. When spending time together there was lots of joking and laughter. Her favourite thing to do was spend time with her daughter Amelia Kelly along side Nigel Kelly. She had a good sense of fashion and loved to dress herself up and take lots of selfies. Whenever her best friend Megan Atatise came into town they would get together and laugh until their belly's hurt! When she was younger she loved to go on the pow wow trail with her family which she would be dancing in her Fancy Shawl regalia. She was often seen with her late mother Darlene, they were closer than two peas in a pod! She also enjoyed her time with her sisters and brothers cause it was always mayhem and you would never know what you were going to get, either laughter or wrestling to be King of the Hill, or just sitting around enjoying the silence.
Pallbearers will be Shyla's friends and family. Honourary Pallbearers will be Kristen Boshey, Megan Atatise, Trevor Boshey Sr, Christopher Big George, Christine Ottertail, Trisha Morrison-Boshey, Nigel Kelly, Damion (Boy) Morrison, Dennis (Meat Pie) Morrison.
