It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Serge Devin(Toto) 66, of Fort Frances on August 11, 2020 at the La Verendrye Hospital.

Serge was born to parents Louis Devin and Therese Vezina on May 28, 1954 in Roberval, Quebec.

He lived in the Lac St.Jean area of Quebec where he owned and operated La Grande Hotel until he came to the Fort area and started logging in the area. Serge and Karen met through mutual friends and had lots of little mishaps with him only speaking French and her only English, having to depend on friends translating. They were married Aug 24, 1991, after being together for 8 yrs. serge and Karen had numerous foster children over the years while Serge continued logging in the Fort area and Alberta until he had a massive brain aneurysm in 2013. In the 7 years since the aneurysm he made remarkable progress with his memory remembering everyone. Serge loved seeing and meeting his grandchildren who he all loved dearly whether they were visiting or by pictures.

Serge was always there to greet his family and friends with a smile and was quick to crack a few jokes. His smile and laugh were so immensely contagious he was the light of everyone who loved Him life.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Karen, his children from his 1st marriage Jonathon, Natacha (Daniel St. Pierre)of Quebec ,daughter Rio of Fort Frances , and stepsons Brian, (Jody)Smuda and Jeremy Smuda of Minnesota; his foster children Devon, Reeva, Leya and Rae Lynn his grandchildren Leo of Quebec and Jameson, Lincoln, Jayda, Letty, and Chloe of Minnesota.
