Sarah Frances Morrison

It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah Frances Morrison (Wasay Kiisigook Sturgeon Clan) announce the beginning of her journey into the spirit world on Monday September 1, 2020.

Sarah was born at the Laverendrye Hospital in Fort Frances on January 30, 1978. She is a member of the Anishinaabeg of Naongashing (Big Island). Sarah was always adventurous, creative and had a sense of humor to brighten your day with a contagious laugh. Sarah enjoyed many things. She had a flare and passion for cooking/baking and loved to share her creations with family and friends, she also worked as a cook at various places in the area. Sarah also loved to volunteer and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Sarah will be greatly missed.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Jaysa (Merle), her parents Lorraine Big George and James Morrison, her siblings Thomas (Darrilyn) and Laurie (Allan), as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

She is predeceased by her brother Marshall Morrison, Grandmothers _ Melvina Copenace and Sara Big George and Grandfathers Kenneth Big George and Henry Daniels Joseph Big George.

Traditional Wake will be held on Thursday September 10, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Big Grassy River Community Hall.

Traditional Funeral Ceremony to be held at the Big Grassy River Community Hall on Friday September 11, 2020 at 10 a.m. officiated by Elder Tommy Councillor.

Burial will take place in Morson Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Brendan Big George, Diamond Handorgan, Johnny Kirkrude Sr, Shawn Comegan, Tim Copenace, Merle (Gillie) Bouchard. Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home.
