Obituary for Robert Henry Loerzel

Sadly on Friday, December 16, 2022, Robert Loerzel passed away suddenly at the age of 88 surrounded by family in Emo, Ontario.
Robert was born in Handel, Saskatchewan to Anthony Loerzel and Louise Dorner on December 8, 1934, and grew up on the farm.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Lipinski on February 20, 1960 and resided in many communities before settling in Emo, Ontario in 1973.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand in projects, activities and family events.
He was employed as an accountant with the Imperial Bank of Canada and later a bank manager with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
He later became employed with Manitou Forest Products where he worked for a number of years and eventually retired.
Robert was active in his church and the Knights of Columbus. For a time he was a member of the Emo Fair board and a past trustee of the Northwest Catholic District School Board.
Robert was a kind and gentle man of deep faith who loved his family and enjoyed nature. He especially loved his two grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them.
He enjoyed coulee walks by Qu’appelle Valley in Saskatchewan and family singalongs around a camp fire.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret, his parents Anthony and Louise Loerzel, his brothers Ernest, Joseph and Raymond, his sister Frances and in-laws William (Susan), Frank, Bernadette, Lambert Bleile, William Howse and Doug Janzen.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Dale of Ottawa, Ontario, James of Thunder Bay, Ontario and Curtis (Jacquee) of Fort Frances, Ontario.
He will be sadly missed by his cherished grandsons Aiden and Jaxon.
Robert is also survived by his sisters Theresa and Eleanor and in-laws Clarence (Heather), Ernest (Judy), Agnes, Doreen (Rodney), Joan (Jeff) and Mona and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends and prayers will be held on Tuesday evening, December 27, 2022 from 6-8pm at the Northridge Funeral Home.
A private family funeral mass, will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, Emo, Ontario on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11AM.
Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery at a later date.
