Obituary for Robert Harry "Bob" Gadd

Bob passed away peacefully at LaVerendrye Hospital on July 5, 2021 at the age of 90. He was one of nine children born to the late Charles Henry (Harry) Gadd and Annie Helena “Nellie” Gadd (Crowe) in Fort Frances, ON He is survived by his daughter-in-law Vikki, his grandchildren Michelle (Jarom) Leafloor of Airdrie, AB and Robert “Brad” Gadd of Lethbridge, AB and great grandchildren Nathan, Benjamin and Cohen.
He is also survived by his sister Dixie Crossman of White Rock, BC, his late wife Shirley’s children and their families, in-laws Dorothy Brown, Ella & Lawrence Desserre, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful friends.
He was predeceased by his son Robert “Marty”, wife Shirley, his sisters Alice, Mary, Dorothy and Lillian; brothers Clarence, Francis “Frank” and Victor Gadd.
Bob worked on the family farm until he started his career as a young man at the Fort Frances paper mill where he worked until retirement. Bob also devoted his time to a small business “The Golden Needle” which he owned and operated. Once it closed, he continued to repair sewing machines from his home workshop until his final days. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and a good bottle of scotch with friends. Due to COVID restrictions, a private service was held on July 13, 2021 at Northridge Funeral Home.
