Obituary for Philippe Larocque

Philippe “Phil” Larocque
September 4, 1934 – June 15, 2020
In loving memory of Phil Larocque who passed away on June 15, 2020 after a 3 year battle with cancer.
Phil is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marguerite, sons; Larry (Loretta) of Dryden, Denis (Maggie) of Jasper, AB, Darrel (Kimberly) of Dryden and Darcy (Tracy) of Edmonton, AB, grandchildren; Nicole (Moline), Adam, Dessa and Landon, great-grandchildren; Chase and Jett (Moline) and Price also by numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
Phil is predeceased by his parents Leo and Valeda Larocque of Pinewood, ON, sister Orize and brother-in-law Leo Langlais of Dryden, brother-in-law Frank Boyda of Atikokan, brother-in-law Philip Lauzon of Fort Frances and brother-in-law Emil Tyhy.
Phil lived in the Rainy River area for 82 years and moved to Dryden in 2017 to be closer to family.
He was hired on with CNR in 1951 as a steam engine fireman until his retirement in 1989 as a locomotive engineer.
Phil enjoyed spending time in his garden, camping, hunting, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.
Family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at DRHC and Thunder Bay Regional with a special thanks to Cathy in Dryden Oncology and Teagan and Maissey from the “Follow me home” program in Dryden.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life and interment will take place at a later date.
