Obituary for Pearl Daisy Ivall-Mason
On August 13 Pearl Ivall Mason stepped from pain into the light. She was 23 days short of her 100th birthday.
Born to pioneer parents Mabel Rarrick Hawthorne of Indiana and James Hawthorne of Belfast, Ireland,
she lived from horse and buggy days to using her I pad. She handled all these changes with he characteristic style and grace, earning her the title of "remarkable woman".
She had a brilliant mind and in other times could have become whatever she wanted to be. Her memory and acuity remained with her to the end. She was the best source for historical anecdotes and we will miss her memories which she loved to share with us.
Mom was a devoted member of St James Anglican Church. She was also active in the Spohn Township
municipal government, and a valued employee of Artic Cat/ Weather Wear, from start to finish.
Our home at "the farm" was a welcome place for a variety of visitors.Our Sunday table was often 30 people,
family and friends, enjoying Moms wonderful cooking.Mom got a second chance at love when Joe passed. She took the opportunity to be happy and was for many years until Ken passed last month. Pearls family was her life. Missing her already are her sons Allen (and Ruth), David (and Heidi), daughter Marsha Ivall,
daughters in law, Pam and Donna. Also missing their grandmother are Earl and Stephanie, Shane, Dawn, Neil, Michaela, Matthew and Laurie Ivall and their partners.
After losing their father last month,Ken's daughters Karen, Sandra, Cindy and Joy and their partners have also lost Pearl.
Celebrating their reunion with her is her first husband Joe Ivall and sons Blaine and Gary, her grandson Mark and her second love Ken Mason. She will also be reunited with her brothers Ken and Elmer and sister Beatrice, her almost sister Marg Hawthorne and her Neddo family.
