Obituary for Nettie Amorde

Nettie AmOrde, age 92, of Fort Frances passed away on August 19, 2021.
Preceded in death by her husband William (Blue) AmOrde, parents Dan and Mary Wednchuk, siblings Eva Balaski and William Wednchuk. Survived by sisters-in-law Lorena Jaman and Marylin Wednchuk. Mother of Randy (Louise) and Dan (Gwenn) AmOrde. Grandmother to Allison (David) Blake, Paul (Amanda) AmOrde and Jennifer (Colin) LeBlanc. Great grandmother to Christian and Savanna AmOrde, Kaden and Kyler Blake, Anna and Emily LeBlanc.
Growing up in the depression times Nettie knew what hard times were and what it was like to be without. Nettie selflessly and lovingly poured her life into her family to ensure that we lacked nothing especially her love. One of her greatest joys was being out on the lake fishing with Blue and their family. With of course, the understanding that Dad would always put the minnow on her line and take the fish off her line ;?) Although physically not able to, one of her last desires was to “get out on the lake one last time”.
From the mid-50s through to 1972, Nettie and Blue were known through their tireless work at the Do Drop Inn, then the Fort Bulk Foods store for a few years. Upon “retirement” Nettie offered ceramics classes where ladies enjoyed their time together and made fast friends. Nettie’s crafting in crochet, knitting, sewing and quilting were well known and treasured by those she loved.
At Nettie’s request there will be no visitation nor funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.
We, as her family wish to thank those who blessed Nettie throughout her life with their love, kindness and caring, she greatly treasured you.
To our parents who “raised us right”, mission accomplished Mom and Dad!
With all of our love,
Randy and Dan
