Marilyn Louise McAlister 1938 - 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on December 15th of Marilyn Louise McAlister, beloved wife of Ron, and dear friend to all who knew her.
Marilyn was born and raised in the Toronto area, where she met and married the love of her life Ron. They shared their lives together for 60 years.
After working in several business ventures in the Toronto area, Ron and Marilyn decided to pull up stakes and go west. Eventually they found themselves in Rainy River, which they decided was to their liking.
Marilyn was actively involved in the Rainy River community as volunteer. For several years, Marilyn worked at the Rainy River Hospital.
Marilyn found great joy in spending time with her precious dogs. She loved her flower gardens and enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the birds.
Marilyn was blessed with a sunny disposition. She offered a genuinely warm greeting to everyone. If someone needed help, Marilyn would be the first to volunteer.
A Service of Remembrance of Marilyn, officiated by Rev. Frances Flook, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21st at the Knox United Church in Rainy River. Fellowship and light refreshments will follow.
Donations may be made to the Rainy River Hospital Auxiliary, in care of Northridge Funeral Home.
