Obituary for Marie Komaransky (Gouliquer-Strom)
It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Stella 'Gouliquer' Komaransky announce her passing on July 28, 2022, at the age of 82. Marie passed away peacefully at the AGH with a lot of family by her side.
Marie was born to Arthur & Madeline Gouliquer on November 16, 1939 in Emo, Ontario and was raised in Arbor-Vitae. She grew to be the eldest of twelve children and was like a second mom to most of her siblings.
Marie married her first husband 'Frances Everett Strom' on December 28, 1956. They moved to Atikokan, Ontario in 1957 and over time became the parents of six children: Orval, Glen, Vernon, Neil, Sheila and Lee-Ann. Marie devoted her life to being a homemaker and raising her children Later in life Marie and Everett set up a cabin at Finlayson Resort where they both enjoyed working, spending time with grandchildren and building relationships with friends that came each year.
Marie always enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, blueberry picking and picnics in the bush. She loved the outdoors! She was an awesome cook/baker and no one ever left her home hungry after she hosted a family meal (she said if they did it was their own fault). Her children and grandchildren have many memories of the kitchen table filled with homemade bread and buns, which they couldn't wait to devour.
On April 17, 1991 Marie was saddened at the passing of her husband Everett. She remained helping out at Finlayson Resort for a quite a few years before moving into town. She started attending social functions at the Pioneer Center where she met many new friends and enjoyed time spent with them.
Marie fell in love again and on June 26, 1999 she married Frank Komaransky. These two did everything together and their love for each other was an example to all who knew them. They enjoyed 23 happy years together until Marie's passing -and Frank held his 'Sweeties' hand till the end..
Marie is predeceased by her first husband Everett Strom, son Vernon Strom, son-in-law Norman Anderson, infant granddaughter Jennifer Strom, Grandson Brent Anderson, parents Art & Madeline Gouliquer, and siblings Maxine, Gary, Greg, Kenny and Donna. She leaves behind to cherish precious memories her husband: Frank Komaransky, her children: Orval (Sue) Strom, Glen (Becky) Strom, Neil Strom, Sheila Anderson, Lee-Ann (Steve Belfry), Diane (Tim)Plant and Debbie (Rick) Kump -and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her siblings Reggie (Maryanne), Doreen (Bob), Elmer (Myrna),(Bonnie), Melvin (Kim), Colin (Patty), Colleen and all their families.

Memorial Service for Marie Komaransky will be held at the First Baptist Church, 88 Maple Cresent (Atikokan) at 1:00 p.m. August 4, 2022.
Burial will be at the Little Falls Cemetery following memorial with luncheon provided after burial at the First Baptist Church
Pallbearers will be Lenard Strom, Donny Strom and Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons -Jessie Strom, Chris Strom, Ryan Strom, Rob Strom, Isaac Strom, Mike Strom and Daniel Belfry. Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home Ltd.
