Obituary for Margaret Therese Melanson
Margaret Melanson (Flynn), age 96 of Emo, Ontario passed away peacefully Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ontario. In 1963 she settled with her husband in Emo where they remained after his retirement from the Canadian National Railway in 1981.
Margaret worked in the laundry of the Rainycrest Long Term Care facility in Fort Frances, Ontario until her retirement. In her younger years, Margaret was involved with the Catholic Women’s League of Canada (CWL). She found great joy in her family. She loved to talk about her grandchildren and great grandchildren , and she loved seeing them and spending time with them even more. She was also a life-long sewer. She gave much of her time making quilts and cross- stitches which she shared with her family. Her quilts are used and cherished by her family to this day.
She was born Margaret Flynn on December 29, 1925 in Church Point, Nova Scotia to her parents Willie and Marie Rose (Robichaud) Flynn. She was married 56 years to her husband Paul Melanson, having married him on February 17, 1947.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul and her son Bryan.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Michelle (Dave) of Nestor Falls, Ontario and her second son Ross (Cora) of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan . She is also survived by her five grandchildren Jon, Ashley (James), Maryse, Kathryn (Jeremy) and Elise (Braydon) and by her four great grand children Ryan (Jon),
Quinton (Maryse), Brax and Grae (Ashley).
There will be no funeral held and she will be laid to rest with her loving husband in the spring of 2023.
