Marcella Louise Desrosiers, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away after a battle with cancer Monday, August 31, 2020 at the age of 73.
Marcella was born on March 31. 1947 to Augustine and Isabelle Desrosiers. She spent most of her life in Fort Frances and spent many happy years with the love of her life, Theodore (Ted) Perrault in Red Gut Bay, and Thunder Bay.
Marcella, also lovingly referred to as Lou-Lou, is preceded in death by her parents Augustine and Isabelle Desrosieres, brothers Ronald and Clayton Desrosieres, sisters Karla and Michelle Desrosieres, half brother Marvin Mainville, as well as her partner Theodore Perrault.
Lou-Lou enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, eating walleye, listening to the drums at pow wows and watching the dancers. Family was important to her and she proudly helped raise her nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews by providing a loving and kind influence for them. She also loved visiting her many cousins and relatives and reminiscing about their younger days and catching up with family news.
She is survived by her brothers Kenneth Desrosiers (Kitty) of Fort Frances, and Patrick Desrosier (Anchalee) of Illinois. Also survived by her step-children, the late Adrian Perrault and Perry Perrault.
Although Lou-Lou never had any children of her own, she was always regarded as “Nana”. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews to include; Caitlin Warren (Chris), Ang Desrosiers, Raquel DesRosiers (Hunter), Dylan Warren, Christina Chute (Mitchell), Jessica Desrosiers, Joe Desrosiers, Cathy Desrosiers (Steve), Masita Desrosier and Pattie Shumake as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Friday September 4 at 11am for close family and friends.
Interment will follow the service, and we encourage those who were not able to attend the service to join us graveside.
The pallbearers will be Joe Desrosiers, Dylan Warren, Reece Martin, Charlie Walsh, Chris Dery, and Doug Cridland.
The honourary pallbearers will be Phyllis George, Phyllis Crowe, Diane Mainville, Barbara M Calder, Elaine Dokuchie, Diane Oster, and Cathy Hubbert.
