Lydia was the 6th child of 17 born to Emma (nee Gall) and Emil Meisner. Lydia married Elmer Kiesman on June 18, 1948. In the early years of their marriage Mom and Dad farmed in Spearhill, Marchand, and Moosehorn Manitoba. They purchased the Buy-Rite store in Moosehorn from Grandpa Meisner and operated it for a number of years. In the fall of 1968, the family moved to Winnipeg where Lydia resided until her passing. Mom enjoyed playing cards, dominos, bingo, soap operas, the price is right, watching curling and listening to music, but her most joy was visiting with family.
The family would like to extend our thanks to the staff at CD2 Riverview Health Centre for their great care and love of Mom. We can never repay you and will be forever thankful. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lydia's name may be made to the Riverview Health Centre CD2, One Morley Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. As per Lydia's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service to be held. Interment will take place in Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Winnipeg.
