Obituary for Loretta Brunetta

Loretta “Lolly” Brunetta, 91, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Rainycrest Long Term Care.

The youngest daughter of William and Mildred Toffan, she was born into a loving family as Loretta “Lolly” Toffan on April 14, 1931 in Fort Frances, Ont.

Lolly worked as a secretary at the Ontario & Minnesota Paper Company, and a legal secretary with A D McLennan Law Office. Later while raising her family she worked at Bradley and Wolder Law Office until her retirement.

Lolly was a lifetime member of St Mary’s Parish supporting the CWL and the Choir. Being civic minded she was involved with many organizations including being past president of the Women’s Fort Frances Curling Club. Also past president of the Women’s Kitchen Creek Golf Club and supporter of La Verendrye General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Lolly gave more than what was expected and lived with no regrets. She will be remembered for her wonderful wit, sociability and great sense of humor right to the very end. She truly enjoyed the time spent with the people in her life.

Lolly and Ernie Brunetta were married on October 11, 1952 and together they raised their four children, Clare, Dawn Marie, Dale, and Ernie Jr. They were blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with whom she was lovingly involved, and who she helped and supported over the years.
Lolly was predeceased by her husband Ernie, her first born infant daughter, parents William and Mildred Toffan, her brother Ernest Toffan (Madeleine and second wife Evelyn) and brother Allan Toffan (Dorleen), also, her grandson, Ryan John Dale Brunetta.

She is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Julian and Sandra Brunetta, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Lolly will always be lovingly remembered by her family, Clare (Beverly) Brunetta, Dawn Marie Ash, Dale Brunetta, and Ernie (Michelle) Brunetta.

She also is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Ash (Arjan Dykman), Heather Ash (Chantal Robitaille), Paul Brunetta (Sarah Marusyk), Danielle “Claire” Driaut (Steeve), Michael Brunetta (Marie), Holly Johnson (Jeremy), Ellen Gibson, Daniel Brunetta (Jessica), step-granddaughter, Ashley Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Delaney and Tristan Dykman, Eli Johnson, Bradley Gibson , Anthony Brunetta, Ava and Natalie May Brunetta.

Celebration of life including Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances, Ontario on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father Gino Mathias.

Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church or Riverside Foundation for Health Care (Rainycrest Long Term Care).
