Obituary for Leonard Allan Glueheisen

Len Glueheisen

It is with deep sadness that the family of Leonard Allan Glueheisen, age 70 years announce his passing January 8th 2023 at 130 PM in Thunder Bay Ontario.

Leonard was born on June 18th 1952 in Fort Frances Ontario to Milton and Betty Glueheisen, Leonard known as Len met his soul mate Jan Glueheisen (Nault) in high school in Fort Frances. They were united in marriage on May 20th 1972. They were fortunate enough to have just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Together they raised two children Tammy and Lenny. Len worked in the pulp and paper mill from 1970-2010 with 40 years of service. In 1982 he received his certificate in industrial mechanic (millwright).

At the age of 26 while working full time in the mill, he made time to build our family home.

Lens favourite time was spent with family and friends at the cabin. He took pride in always prioritizing his family’s needs before his own and taking every opportunity to teach us valuable life lessons.

Dad loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed wood working as well as tinkering in the yard and around the house and cabin, or doing any other chore mom asked him to do. In return it turned out to be a full time job. On that note we all know he had a great sense of humour. His other hobbies include hunting, curling, weightlifting and riding his motorcycle.

Brayden Spence his one and only grandson held a special place in his heart and was his pride and joy. Pops attended every football game whether it was home or away. They spent countless hours on the lake together. Pops always said when you see the sunrise in the morning remember that every day starts anew, don’t worry about the mistakes of yesterday, just keep moving forward. I hope that one day when you look at the sunrise you remember me and these moments we shared.

Len is survived by his wife, Jan and children Tammy and Lenny, grandson Brayden (Shelby), brothers Larry (Shirley), Lance (Jamie). Sisters in law Donna, Lori Pochailo(Jim). Brothers in law Frank Nault (Gab), Rod Nault (Kim), Dave Nault (Carrie), as well as numerous nieces ,nephews, cousins and other relatives.
