Obituary for Joyce Isabell Galusha

Joyce Isabell Galusha (Paterson) 1932 - 2022
On November 10, 2022 a mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother left a gaping hole in the hearts of her family. January 16, 1932 Joyce was born to Fred and Emily Paterson in Devlin where she resided until she married Roy, the love of her life.
Joyce married Roy on the 20th of September 1949, and together they raised their six children on the farm north of Barwick. Joyce was dedicated to the Emo Knox United Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with many a tea / bake sale and to the end of her life she appreciated hymns.
Joyce took particular joy in creating wool quilts which kept many a child toasty and warm. Joyce had a green thumb and many hours were spent and enjoyed in her three gardens which she continued until she left the farm in 2011 when she moved to the apartment in Fort Frances, but left her heart on the farm.
Joyce learned how to cook after getting married and became a fabulous cook with her family, neighbours and friends enjoying the efforts of her hard work. As children we particularly remember coming home from school to the smell of fresh bread and buns and a big pot of homemade soup on the stove.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Chris (Pat), Kathy; Peggy (Ken); Ruth (Barry); Jim (Wendy); Bill (Brenda); Grandchildren: Darryl (Leah); Nathan (Wednesday); Denise (Fern); Tara; Joshua; Anthony: Ryan (Audra); Christine (C.J); Jamie (Dawn); Jennifer (David); Katie; Sara; Jake and twenty (20) great grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by sisters: Dorothy; Alice; Sadie and Sylvia, and sister-in-law Betty.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2002 after 53 years of marriage; son Chris in 2019; father Fred in 1974; mother Emily; brother Alex; sister Betty and sister Edith
We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
