Obituary for Joyce Evelyn Barron (Clink)

Joyce Evelyn Barron (nee Clink) passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at her residence in Emo Health Care Centre on Friday, May 22, 2020.

She is survived by her five children: Garth (Anne) of Toronto, Wayne (Eleanor) of Fort Frances, Diane (Guy) Wolframe of Thunder Bay, Donna of Thunder Bay, and Doug (Yvonne) of Barwick, and well as 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Don of Barwick.

She was predeceased by her husband Norman, her parents Gordon and Hazel Clink, her sister Lorraine Lowe, and her brothers Dave and Bill.

Joyce was born on July 5, 1925 in Chapple Township. She attended Shenston #5, a one-room school situated on the present site of Sturgeon Creek School. Throughout her later years, she often related recollections of the humourous incidents and close friendships of her school years.

Joyce first met her future husband, Norman, when he was working at her grandfather's farm. Norman later served overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces, and upon his return home, he and Joyce were married in 1947. Together they raised five children on the family farm east of Barwick.

Joyce had a great love for her family. Her walls were always festooned with photos of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed being kept up with their latest activities and accomplishments.

For many years Joyce was an active member of First Baptist Church and later Barwick Community Church. She had a deep love for the Lord and lived out her faith each day through her kindness and her service to others.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but along with the grief and sadness is the assurance that she is now with the Lord. Joyce often spoke of her longing to be in Heaven, and we are confident that she is now in the presence of Jesus, Her Saviour, for all eternity.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no funeral service. A private gathering will be held for the immediate family.
