John Murdock McCoy


It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John McCoy 83 of Miscampbell Twp, on Friday November 15, 2019 at the La Verendrye Hospital.


John was born on September 17, 1936 in Devlin Ontario to parents Robert and Donalda (McLean) McCoy. John was united in marriage to Henrietta Johnson on September 9, 1956 and together raised their five children.


John served in the US Air Force four years; serving one year in Korea. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends, fishing and hunting (especially moose camp) and tinkering in the garage. He worked for a time at the Mando Paper in International Falls, MN and working on the farm in Devlin with his brother Brian.


John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Henrietta of 63 yrs, their sons Jerry, Mike (Bev), his son in laws Lard Larson, Dale Stamarski, daughter in law Dianne McCoy, his grandchildren Brian (Dawn), Joel (Sydney), Bobbi (Ryan), Christina (Clarence), Brendan (Brandi), Jeremy (Megan), Jonathan, Rodney (Holly), Danielle (Cole), Nikki, Katie, and Amber; his great grandchildren Lilly, Rosie, Adrianna, Declan, Cassidi, Parker, Emmett Chong and (Arte his lap warmer). John is also survived by his brother Brian (Jude) McCoy, sister in law Toni McCoy and numerous nieces and nephews.


John was predeceased by his parents Robert and Donalda, his children Sheri, Philip and Patti; his brother James and sister Edith Anderson.


A service of celebration and remembrance in John's memory will be announced at a later date in the spring. if desired memorial donations may be made in John's memory to the Canadian Blood Services or the Emo Knox United Church Building Fund c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89 Emo, ON P0W 1E0.
