Obituary of Inge Scheibler

The family of Inge Scheibler (nee Rentz) announce her passing on December 20, 2022 at Emo hospital in Emo Ontario.
Inge was born in Berlin, Germany on September 16, 1934 to Willi and Kathe Rentz.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mike, Barb Hands (Larry), Chris Scheibler, Jim (Maxine), Andreas (Denise), Rosi D’Uva (Domenic), Gabriela Scheibler, Gloria Hamm (Tony), Dorothy Vlotaros (Stan) and her daughter in law, Cindy Scheibler. Also her niece Birgit Riedel (Mike) and her nephew Christian Riedel and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Willi and Kathe Rentz, her husband Johannes, Brother Aribert, infant sons Ulli and Peter, sons Frank and Ralph and grandsons Jeff Scheibler and Theren Smith.
Mom, Inge, worked hard alongside our Dad, Johannes, to provide and care for the family on the farm. Mom’s other interests included writing for the Stratton and area news in the Fort Frances Times for many years. She taught a knitting and crocheting class at local community college. Mom was involved in the local Christian Women’s Club in book sales and was later the president of the Stratton Seniors Club. Mom loved playing Scrabble, Yahtzee and most card games, especially Euchre.
Mom is known for her generous heart. She was always quick with a birthday or anniversary wish, a get well and sympathy card for all her family, friends and neighbors. She never missed the chance to welcome a new grandchild or great grand child with a card and gift or to congratulate them on graduation or other achievements. Mom spent countless hours crocheting each day to make clothing for orphan and needy children. Her projects were sent with travelling missionaries and reached over 20 countries worldwide.
Mom was a great hostess. The love and effort she poured into her family was evidenced by the bountiful spread and decorated table at family gatherings. Rouladen, Swedish meatballs and her stew meat dish were among the family favourites.
Mom’s dedication, love of hosting and generous heart made Christmas an extra special at the Scheibler farmhouse. From the traditional Christmas Eve meal to the fresh cut balsam tree piled high with gifts, to the beautiful singing around the candle lit table, these moments will always be cherished by her family.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Inge’s life on Friday, January 06, 2023 2:00 p.m.at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ontario with Mark Mast officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Emo Legion Hall in Emo, ON.
