Obituary for Hildegard Friederike Bruehl

Hildegard Bruehl
Hilde was born November 14 1934 in Nauholx, Germany to Friedrich and Emma Kramer. As the oldest child, she needed to provide her mother with much help through the difficult war years; often suffering hunger, fear and cold, at a young age.
On March 15, 1957 she was joined in marriage to Eberhard Bruehl, in Netphen, Germany. They were married for 48 years, and had 2 children: Dorothea (of Montreal, Quebec) and Gottfried (of Stanbridge, Quebec). Gottfried has 2 children, Sabrina and Nathan.
In July, 1975 they left Germany and came to Quebec where they purchased a dairy farm the next month. The start- up was very hard-no cattle, no quota, but they liked to work in agriculture.
In August 1996 they retired and moved to Fort Frances, then in April, 1998 they bought the farm by Stratton where Hilde resided until her death.
November 21, 2019 Hilde passed away at home due to her heart and kidney failure. She lived 85 years and 7 days.
Hilde was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and 1 brother in law Herman Bender. She is survived by her children and her grandchildren; 2 brothers, Siegfried and Wilhelm of Germany, and 1 sister Hannah Bender also of Germany.
Eberhard and Hilde began attending Sundays at Woodside Mennonite Church by Pinewood in 2000. The last couple of years Hilde was not able to attend regularly, due to her failing health, but she still enjoyed many short contacts with people in her home.
Her family is very grateful to all who have helped with Hildeā€™s care, which enabled her to stay at home, where she wanted to be, during her entire physical decline.
Funeral service is planned for Wednesday Nov 27, 2019 at 10:00 am at Pineview Mennonite Church, with interment in Pineview Mennonite Church Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home.
