Obituary for Glenn Orville Stafford

Glenn Orville Stafford

On Friday December 4th we lost an integral part of our family with the passing of our husband and dad at the age of 74 after a short battle with cancer.

Dad grew up and lived in the Stratton area his entire life. He met and married Mom (Dianne Watts) and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May of this year. He spent his life logging and farming, and thoroughly enjoyed ‘having coffee with his friends’ at the café, country drives, visiting family and friends, casino runs and could normally be found at any local activities or events with a story to tell and a smile on his face.

He will forever be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Dianne, children Paul, Peter, Terri Retzler (Shawn) and Jenni Morrison (Buck), as well as five grandchildren he was extremely proud of and hated the idea of missing them growing up – Ashlyn, Evan and Parker Retzler, and Scarlett and Rihanna Morrison. He will also be remembered by his older siblings Leonard (Dora Mae), Norman (Hellen) and Cal (Carolyn), sister-in-law Elaine Advent, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that adored him.

As much as he didn’t want to leave his family here, he looked forward to reuniting with his mother, father and sisters Alma and Ruby, as well as other family members and close friends we had lost in the past.

A celebration reflective of all Dad held most precious in his life – family, friends, community and having a good time – will be held next summer.

In memory of Dad and in lieu of donations, please take some time to visit with the people that are important to you; share a cup of coffee, a story and a laugh. Let them know how much you appreciate them and how much they matter to you.

While we cannot adequately thank all of the family members and friends that reached out and supported Dad and our family during this time, we do want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts as this journey would not have been as easy for any of us without you.
