Geraldine was the first Social Administrator for Big Grassy and worked there for almost 36 years until her retirement.

Geraldine loved to play bingo, she loved to laugh, joke around, and usually stayed up late playing at the casinos. She loved to make quilts for everyone until she suffered a debilitating stroke. She really enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved going to powwows and visiting with friends and relatives. They often camped out and sat around the camp fire, and every year she would attend the Ponemah Minnesota Labor Day powwow with her cousin Susan, or Ida Skead and family.

She was a well-respected elder, she sat on the Elders Advisory Group in Big Grassy, she offered opening prayers, and attended meetings for Grand Council Treaty #3, AKRC, Big Grassy River First Nation, and various other organizations. She also volunteered on many committees for the community and AKRC Tribal Council. She did great things for the community.

A traditional Service was held on Thursday September 3, 2020 at the Big Grassy River First Nation Community Hall. Arrangements entrusted to Northridge Funeral Home.
