Obituary for Frank Komaransky

Frank Komaransky
July 4th, 1926 – August 23rd, 2022

It’s with great sadness that the family of Frank Komaransky announces his passing on August 23, 2022 at the age of 96. Frank passed away peacefully in the town of Atikokan, Ontario at the general hospital with loved ones at his bedside. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and caring friend to many, where they will always cherish the memories they have made.

Frank was born on July 4, 1926 in Petlura Manitoba to Bill and Magdaline (Sloan) Komaransky. Frank grew up in Petlura on his family farm with his 22 siblings working hard endless hours. Frank left the family farm at the age 14 to pursue carpentry. He worked hard to make money and sent every penny back to help support his family which he loved so deeply. On October 15, 1950 Frank married Thelma (Makar) and was blessed with three beautiful daughters Diane (Tim) Plant, Rosaline (Bryan) Caron, and Debbie (Rick) Kump. After Thelma’s untimely death he was fortunate to meet and marry Florence (Hamel) on August 12, 1972 where two more beautiful daughters were added to his family, Julie (Troy) Wiersema, and Shelley (Kevin) Paquette. Later in years Frank found his final love Marie (Gouliquer) and was married on June 26, 1999. Frank openly extended his family by welcoming Marie’s 6 children Orval (Sue) Strom, Glen (Becky) Strom, Vernon Strom, Neil Strom, Sheila (Norm) Anderson, Lee-Ann (Steve) Belfry.

Frank had many hobbies including playing the banjo and violin in a band for weekend dances and were extremely proud to be heard on the radio. He was also quite the avid outdoorsman where you could find him out hunting, fishing, picking berries, or picking cones. His garden was beautiful! He spent endless hours working in his garden where he grew everything and was always willing to share.

Church service will be 1:00pm, Tuesday August 30, 2022 at the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at Little Falls Cemetery. Please join the family at 3:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion for a celebration of Frank’s life.

Pallbearers will be: Tim Plant, Bryan Caron, Rick Kump, Troy Wiersema, Kevin Paquette, Lavern Haney, and Lyndon Haney.

If desired memorial donations may be made to your charity of choice.
