Obituary for Eileen Dorothy Hodges
Eileen Hodges ,age 93 at the long term care of Rainy River Health Care Centre , in Rainy River, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 3rd 2021 .
She was born February 26 1928 to late Charles and Magna Hodges.
Eileen was born and grew up in Rainy River, Ontario. She was a great cook. She worked at the Victory Cafe later known as Berts, the CNR Beanery, the Rainy River Hotel and the Roadside
Restaurant. She also worked at Cedar Island and Tamarack Lodge on Lake of the Woods.
She also cooked at the Legion and volunteered her time for many events.
Eileen enjoyed going to the Casino or just going for car rides looking for deer. She especially liked going to the Lake .
Eileen is survived by her son Randy his wife Janice, her brother Ken in Melville, Saskatchewan, sister Shirley in Kitchener, Ontario, and Charlotte (who passed away on August 4 in Fort Frances) She is also survived by many nieces and nephews , who called her Auntie "I" .
She was predeceased by brothers Norman and Lloyd , sisters Helen, Ethel, and Gean and brother - in- laws Andy McQuaker, Leslie Wilson, Bill Ewald, Orville Thacker, and Gord Calder.
She is also survived by Junior, Randy and Janice's dog who she loved very much.
A time of fellowship will be held in Eileen's memory at the Rainy River Royal Canadian Legion on May 25, 2022 at 2 p.m.
