Obituary for Eileen Alexander (Oien)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Emily Alexander (Oien) on January 19, 2022 after a severe stroke that took away her quality of life. Mom had been residing at Riverside Health Long Term Care in Emo Ontario.
Mom was born in Tovell Township and lived there for a brief period and later her family relocated to a farm north of Stratton.
Mom was the most selfless and giving person you would want to meet and generous to a fault. She was patient and forgiving. Mom’s faith in God was evident in her life.
We remember our mother as one who always put others ahead of herself.
Mom held many skills such as baking, canning, milking cows , picking berries, gardening and creating meals out of very limited resources.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Alvin Alexander of 73 years, parents Ted and Annie Oien, mother-in- law Edna Alexander, daughter Sharon Morken, son-in-law Don Morken, grandson Lyle Morken, granddaughter Shari’s husband Joe Reynolds, great grandson Ashby Reynolds son -in-law Ken Fisher, son-in-law Melvin Morken , sister Vivian O-Donnell (Vern), Bernice Salchert (Ted), Gladys Bigelow(Dan), brothers Ken Oien(Helen) ,Noel Oien(Lenore), brother in law Ray Robinson, Eugene St. John, Norman Alexander, Cecil Wilson and sister-in-law Shirley Wilson.
Mom leaves to mourn her children Fred Alexander (Ruth), Evelyn Fisher, Eleanor Morken and Lawrence Alexander, as well as her twin sister Evelyn St. John ,sister June Robinson and sister in law Muriel Alexander. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grand child.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 21, 2022 at 11 am at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ontario followed by interment in Stratton Cemetery.

Mom’s family would like to thank all the staff at Riverside Health Care Emo for the excellent care that Mom received while living there.
Because of COVID-19 there will be no funeral service. A graveside gathering will be held in the summer.
The family thanks Jason and staff at Northridge Funeral Home for their compassion and care at this difficult time.
