Dixie Corrine Watson
With profound sadness and a mixture of joy and faith in our Lord Jesus, the family of Dixie Watson (nee McQuaker) wish to announce her passing peacefully in the Rainy River Hospital on November 8, 2019 following a sudden onset of pancreatic cancer.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, her mother and father (Carson and Iris McQuaker) and a number of aunts and uncles.
Dixie is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Buck Watson, their two children Cori (Rod Miller, step grandchildren Clair and Nate), Rob (Sherry, grandchildren Jamie and Jordan); all of Thunder Bay. Her immediate family, of which she was the eldest of 9, includes 6 brothers and 2 sisters along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances. We trust you will forgive us for not trying to name them all. Dixie could sit and name them each in order from end to end but we would surely miss some and each one is too precious to be missed. Her family and friends were her passion.
After learning to live with the effects of polio as a toddler, Dixie would go on to lead a strong active life style and now are ready to her next adventure with her Saviour Jesus Christ.
A very informal Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton Community Hall, followed by a private family interment.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rainy River Hospital Auxillary, c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0.
