Obituary for Cynthia Anne Stromstad (Helder)

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my wife Cynthia Anne Stromstad (nee Helder) , 65 at LaVerendry Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario on Saturday, August 27, 2022.
Cynthia was born in Rainy River, Red Cross Hospital on August 17, 1957 to Ulke & Hannelore Helder. The eldest of four children. She attended Bergland School and Rainy River High School.
I met Cindy at Scotty’s Bar in International Falls in October 1986. We went to the “Chocolate Moose” and talked till 4 .We married 8 months later on May 30, 1987 at the First Lutheran, City of Koochiching Minnesota.
She loved horses and horse riding. She worked at Peterson’s Store in Bergland, 17 years at Canadian Tire, Cars Plus in Fort Frances, and managed Piston ring in Fort Frances, from 2006 until her retirement in May of 2017.
She was predeceased by her father Ulke, brother John, mother-in-law Doris Stromstad.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband Keith, step-children; Adam (Kari, children Signe, Soren), Scott (Emily, children Samantha, Kara) mother Hannah Helder, sister Brenda (Randy) nieces Caitlyn (Bryan), April, nephew Austin, brother Dennis (Dana), sister in law Sharon, nephew Dylan, niece Jordan (Brian), special grand nieces Bristol and McKenzie, brother in law Lyle (Debbie), Jason, sister in law Blanche Eastman and aunts Monica Armistead, and Rena Helder and by her BFF Kathy Treflin, good friends Reg & Margie and very special companion Buddy.
Cindy was a remarkable, wonderful, generous person and will be missed by many.
We have lost someone dear, but God has gained a special angel.
