Obituary for Corey James Langner

Corey James Langner May 19, 1976- August 24, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Corey James Langner. Corey was born on May 19, 1976 to parents William and Beverley Langner in Sioux Lookout, ON
He lived in various places and went to school in Rainy River and Fort Frances, ON graduating from Fort Frances High School in 1995. He later graduated from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, ON with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Corey met his wife Kristi (nee Desrochers) in Fort Frances in 2004 and they were married on October 25, 2008. They made their home in Atikokan and purchased their home on Pine Crescent in 2007.
On January 24, 2011 they were blessed with the birth of their twins Andie Faith and James Andrew who were the apple of his eye and to whom he loved so very much.
Corey loved sports and the outdoors. He played and watched hockey, enjoyed snowmobiling, played golf (even got a hole in one at Kitchen Creek) and played slo-pitch for years. He enjoyed hunting and was often found on the lake- going for the night bite.

Corey was a loyal employee, a hard and dedicated worker who gave his all to his job. He worked in autobody, as an electrician’s assistant, a skidder operator for C&C Cunningham and finally a Lead Hand at Resolute Forest Products at the Atikokan Sawmill.

Corey was a kind and loyal friend who would help anybody who needed it, he could literally fix anything he put his mind to, had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Corey is survived by his wife Kristi, his children Andie and Jamie, his parents William and Beverley Langner, his brother Joel (Rachel), Bryce and Benjamin Langner. He is also survived by Patricia Desrochers, Don (Anne), Andrew (Karina), Matthew (Mandy), Michael Desrochers, Steve (Norma) Desrochers, Melissa (Mark), Emily and Allison Kolle, Patricia (Josh), Noah, and Thomas Dreidger, and Blaine (Denise) Desrochers. He will be fondly remembered by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends.
In lieu of flowers, his memory can be honoured by making a donation on the Go Fund Me page found on Facebook.

A service of Remembrance for Corey will be held on Wednesday, September 1, at the White Street Ball Park in Atikokan at 2:00 p.m.
