Obituary for Angus "Ogimaa'ategoneb" Jourdain Sr.

Angus Jourdain Sr.

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Angus Jourdain Sr, 70 of Lac La Croix First Nation on Saturday September 10, 2022 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.

Angus was born September 8, 1952 in Fort Frances, ON to parents Andrew Sr. and Mary Jourdain.

Angus grew up in Lac La Croix First Nation. He worked in the community his entire life. He loved his family with all his heart and music was his passion. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Janice Boshey and they have celebrated over 50 years of marriage.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Janice, their children Conrad, Shannon (Peter), Angus Jr, (Darci), Janelle (Bobby), grandchildren Tye, Charmaine, Connor, Kristian, Brennan, Pacey, Trion, Kyle, Reo, Kaelyn, Lomen, Kian, Hayden, Kash, Angus 111, Mem, Moon, Shaelyn, Logan, Soraya, Jolie Bea, great grandchild Montana.

Angus is also survived by his siblings Steve (Iris), Josephine (Late Edward), Nora (James Sr.), Leon, Lawrence, Gordon (Rosie), Andrew (Charlene), sister in law Alma (Edward), brother in law Justin (Sandra), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was predeceased by his parents Andrew Sr. and Mary Jourdain, his siblings Paul, Norman, Joan Marie, Ruby (Johnny), Isobel, and adopted son Joel.

A traditional wake will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2022 at 4 p.m. followed by a traditional service on Thursday September 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. from the Lac La Croix First Nation Round House. Interment will follow on Lac La Croix First Nation. Elder Mide’kiwenzie of Ki’eshgitabaaning and his helpers will officiate.

Pall Bearers will be his grandchildren Tye, Trion, Kyle, Connor, Kian and Reo. Honourary Pall Bearers will be his grandchildren Brennan, Kristian, son in laws Bobby and Lawrence.
