Ulke Helder

With his family by his side Ulke Helder 86 of Dawson Twp and formerly Bergland peacefully passed away at the Rainy River Hospital on Wednesday September 12, 2018.

Ulke was born in Bergland on May 12, 1932 to parents Jon and Sieske Helder.

He owned and operated his farm in Bergland for 41 years, he was employed with the O.P.P. for four years and operated his own gravel truck. Ulke will be lovingly remembered for his fondness for draft horses.


Ulke will be greatly missed by his wife Hannah of 61 years, his children Cindy (keith) Stromstad, Brenda (Randy) Morrison, Dennis ( Dana) Helder, and John (Sharon) Helder; his grandchildren Dylan, Jordan (Brian), Katie(Bryan), Austin, April, great granddaughter Bristol and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ulke was predeceased by his parents Jon and Sieske, his siblings John, Jane Vandeze, Grace Froome, Verna Meulenkamp, Gerben, and Sam. He is survived by his two sisters Tena Lundgren and Rena Helder.


As per Ulke wishes a private service will be held and interment will take place at a later date.
